|
Duties
|
Sales
o Forecast sales trends and develop marketing campaigns to overcome slow periods
o Manage company sales efforts to optimize sales month by month
o Constantly oversee the actual vs. expected sales numbers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and present this to the company on a weekly/monthly basis
o Sales phone calls
o League welcomes + league visits
o Inbound telephone / afterhours phone
o General sports support (t-shirts, trophy’s, etc)
Sports League Marketing
o Manage and execute all online marketing for the company
o Collect and analyze marketing campaigns and make decisions to improve marketing efforts overall
o Design and manage online marketing campaigns for SEO, conversions and website traffic
o Manage VAVi Volunteer Club (comprised of 150 members)
o Perform market research for all sports programs for new and existing leagues
o Manage and design new email campaigns to increase open rate and click thru rate month to month
o Design and manage bi-weekly newsletter and sponsor emails to all 36,000+ members
o Manage marketing interns on a daily basis to make sure that all marketing efforts are being executed
o Assist in other marketing efforts directly related to filling sports leagues

Requirements
|
- Marketing degree and 1 year experience, or 3+ years marketing experience (Analytics, SEO, PPC, E-mail Marketing, Flyer Distribution Management, etc)
- HTML knowledge required
- Analytical ability required (proficient with MS Excel)
- Must be outgoing, and comfortable with outbound phone calls and league visits
- Incredible passion for sports required -- e.g. former collegiate athlete
- Sports industry experience preferred (NCAA, Chargers, Park & Rec, etc)
- Recreation management degree or sports MBA preferred

Job Description
|
Leroy the Liger travels to various locations around San Diego, visits our sports leagues, attends special events and spreads VAVi cheer. Most of the time will be spent spinning a VAVi sign, showing his excitement for VAVi’s upcoming leagues. Our mascot has to maintain a high level of energy throughout the 2 hour shift and to keep the secrecy of the person underneath the costume. No other mascot experience necessary. Lastly, Leroy must fall within the 5'8" to 6'2" height range for the uniform to fit.

To work directly with the Marketing Manager to create and manage all online marketing efforts for new programs and existing ones. The intern will assist the Marketing Manager in the creation and management of online marketing campaigns, creation and execution of marketing emails, and generating and maintaining reports for all marketing efforts.
Some duties will be, but aren’t limited to, creating and sending HTML marketing emails, managing online marketing advertisements, creating online advertisements, tracking online marketing efforts (banner ads, trade emails, etc.), and more.
