VAVi Volunteer Club Spring 2012 Season:
The VAVi Volunteer Club was at it again, this season helping clean up our beaches and recreation centers, as well as donating time to help run the Peninsula Kids Olympics with the Point Loma Recreation Council.
Event #1: Peninsula Youth Olympics on April 5th, 2012
The VAVi Volunteers assisted the Point Loma Recreation Council in putting on an event for kids ages 5-12. Almost 100 kids participated in events ranging from an obstacle course to soccer and basketball shootouts.
Event #2: Park Beautification at Doyle Recreation Center on April 14th, 2012
VAVi Volunteers helped clean up the front area of Doyle Recreation Center, taking away four large garbage bags full of weeds and trash. What a difference a few hours of work makes!
Event #3: Community Service at Robb Field on April 21st, 2012
The VAVi Volunteers donated a few hours of their time to help make Robb Field in Ocean Beach a little bit nicer. We painted electrical boxes, trash cans, and a few other miscellaneous items around the park to give it a fresh new look!
Event #4: Creek to Bay Cleanup on April 28th, 2012
In collaboration with the Creek to Bay Cleanup organization, the VAVi Volunteers spent the morning helping clean up the dog beach in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego. The community members were very appreciative of our help, and everyone had a great time playing with some of the dogs!
