New to San Diego + want to meet some new people? Intramural all-star in college and want to continue the quest to be the best? Just want to get active or find a way to get out and moving? We’ve got something for you!
We have an extensive list of sport leagues that also includes fitness classes, sports lessons and even bar games! Determine the level of play you would like, then choose a program that fits you best.
2. CONFIRM
Individual
You’re an individual who wants to get in the game & meet new friends! Once you register, we’ll match you with others to form a team.
Start a Small Group
Looking to play with a few friends, or have a full team but do not want to pay the entire fee up front? Create a Small Group and invite friends to pay individually. We will match you with other Small Groups and Free Agents to create a team.
Full Team
Have a full roster of friends ready to play? Sign up a Full Team to save on registration and have complete control of your roster. Once paid, be sure to invite all players to join your team!
Team Player
Players who belong to a Full Team that has already been paid for by the captain. You are adding yourself to the roster, submitting your t-shirt size and accepting the league liability waiver.
3. INVITE FRIENDS
FREE AGENTS – If you joined our program as a free agent, which is the best way to make friends in San Diego, you can skip this part.
SMALL GROUPS – Invite your friends to sign up under your small group at least 7 days before the start of the league to get them locked in before the league sells out! Login to your account and click the “Invite” link next to the program you just joined.
FULL TEAMS – Team captains will need to invite teammates to create an account with VAVi so that each player can accept a liability waiver form and provide us with their shirt size. Be sure to have everyone join your team at least one week before the league starts to ensure player eligibility and that we get them the right shirt size. Go to your dashboard and click the “Invite” next to the program you just joined.
4. WAIT FOR THE DETAILS
We Form Teams
If you paid for a full team, small groups and free agents will not be added to your team. Generally, registration closes 7 days before the league start date but varies depending on capacity and demand per league.
Check Your Email
You’ll be getting a few emails from us. First, you’ll get your purchase receipt email. Then, you’ll get your confirmation email including our VAVi Refund Policy and other fun upcoming VAVi Events you might be interested in. If you are not receiving emails from VAVi please check your ‘Junk’ mail folder and mark any VAVi emails in there as ‘Not Junk’. If you are using Gmail, check your updates or promotions folder too.
Schedules & Deadlines
Schedules are generally released 2-5 days before the program start date. Sign up deadlines for Small Group members are sent out 7 days prior to the start date. Please pay attention to the sign up deadline as players joining Small Groups will not be able to register after this date and we will begin placing Free Agents on teams.
5. ENJOY THE LEAGUE
League Welcome
Our players love to rock their team shirts! You will receive your team shirt on the first day of the league along with our sponsor hookups. The shirt is yours to keep and, as long as you don’t obscure the logos, feel free to customize it however you want! We take team pictures on your first day for most of our programs so be sure to come prepared! Checkout your VAVi Member Perks here.
Post Game Happy Hour
Most leagues provide a bar card with exclusive deals for VAVi players only. Show up to your leagues sponsor bar sporting your VAVi team shirt or show them your sponsor bar card and enjoy food and drink specials!
Playoffs
Check your league details page to see what prizes are on the line! Standard prizes include a voucher to save on their next league fees, the coveted VAVi Bobblehead trophy and championship headbands.
