Golf is complicated. Let our PGA Instructor, Joey Chang, make it simple for you!
Why does ball position matter?
Deciding where to place the ball in your stance is one of the most common mistakes golfers can make. Amateur players tend to place the ball in the middle of their stance, but this is wrong. Ball position is dictated by which club you’re using. Failure to position your ball correctly can lead to inaccurate shots, not hitting the ball squarely and host of other problems.
Using a shorter club?
Shorter clubs, like your pitching or sand wedges, reach the ground quicker. This means you should be placing the ball further back in your stance.
What about longer clubs?
Inversely, longer clubs, like a driver or your woods, should be more towards your front foot. Golf is a difficult game, but tips like these will slowly help you become the player you’ve always wanted.
